UKA Road Race OfficialsIn the 1980's, the AAA introduced a Road Race Officials scheme and many people who officiated / helped at events were graded and recognised. UKA is now re-launching the scheme, this is in part due to changes in insurance cover etc. and the need to have people properly accredited with up to date details on record. The new scheme is based on common standards across the sport, and goes from Level 1 (lowest) to Level 5 (highest). Road Race Officials will only use 3 of these levels, relating to the previous scheme as below: UKA Grading: Level 2 | Old Grading: C UKA Grading: Level 3 | Old Grading: B UKA Grading: Level 5 | Old Grading: A To enable us to proceed we require the names and addresses of those Officials who assist at Road Races. We are attaching Application Forms for grading and we will require these to be completed by each Official and returned to us. This will enable the appropriate grading to be allocated. We do get phone calls from Organisers asking for names of people who could Referee events or officiate as Timekeepers etc so you can see it is essential that our list of Officials is kept up to date. In conjunction with SEAA we are setting ourselves a timetable so that we can deliver this information as quickly as possible, especially as UKA wish to have everything in place during 2007. Could you therefore please provide this information at your 'earliest convenience'. By completing the form below and forwarding it to Graham Ashdown either by post or email. Sussex Permit secretary, Graham Ashdown, 149 Saltdean Vale, Saltdean, Brighton, East Sussex. BN2 8EH. Tel: 01273 302318 We look forward to hearing from you shortly but if there are any queries then please contact either graham or myself on the numbers shown or our County Officials Secretary, Michael Carrington, on 01403 260556 |
